We break down the details of vaping, from the beginning to the different mods.
What is vaping? That may seem like a silly question to some people, but the fact is that many people in the country, and the world for that matter, aren’t fully aware of the concept. Sure, they may see some friends or passersby doing it, many who are trying to quit smoking, but while it may seem to be pretty self-explanatory, the fact remains that it’s still relatively misunderstood by the masses.
In an effort to educate those who aren’t fully aware of the concept and practice, we wanted to take some time to dive into the ins and outs of the process. Those who have been “in the game,” so to speak, tend to talk in their own language, and it can be intimidating for those who aren’t “in the know” quite yet. Let us get you acquainted to vaping.
The first e-cigarette was created by Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist, in 2003. The e-cigarette wouldn’t make its way into the United States until 2006, and over the past 12+ years, the initial E-Cig has evolved into a full-fledged industry with many different options for vaping. Although there are many different options and mods, they all boil down to devices that use a lithium battery that heats a wire coil. E-liquid, or “juice,” is drawn to the coil by a wick, and when the e-liquid gets heated by the coil, it vaporizes and can then be inhaled similarly to smoking.
The E-Liquid or “Juice” – a combination of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, food flavorings, and (oftentimes) nicotine – comes in different flavors and levels of nicotine (some even without) and lets the user gets the nicotine intake they’re looking for or simply the relaxing feeling that vaping tends to give them.
There are also a number of different devices available for those who choose to vape. Those with less experience, or those that prefer something simple, tend to be attracted to disposable e-cigarettes and pod setups that aren’t of the refillable variety. Pod devices like the Juul or My Blu device offer the user-friendly options that take the guesswork out of the equation and are compact devices, but these styles do have their limitations. They have limited flavor options, and because the pods aren’t refillable, they tend to have a higher price point than other options over the long haul.
Over time, users tend to try different options and learn more about what’s on the market. This allows us to get into more advanced forms of vaping and the devices that allow you to modify your vaping experience. The core of every good vape is to have a good mod. The vape mod can be a mechanical mod, a variable volt mod, or an all-in-one mod kit. Vape mods come in a wide variety of colors, sizes, and shapes, so users are able to select the mod that best fits them and their lifestyle. These refillable mods allow you to have the option to change both the flavor and strength of the e-liquids you prefer. We’ve covered multiple reasons on the benefits of vaping compared to smoking, and a look at the different mod options gives users a look at just how flexible vaping is compared to smoking. While the thought of options is always great, safety is always at the forefront. So get to know the devices as you select what’s best for you. Learn the details and inner workings of your mod, and enjoy your vape!
