Building a 3.7V 510 Box Mod

510 Box Mod Instructions

These are instructions to build a 510 Box Mod Kit.  We provide them for the enthusiast who has thought of building their own mod but didn't think they would know where to start.  We tried to make them simple and easy to understand.  You can get a larger view of each image by clicking on it.  Tools needed to perform this mod are a soldering iron, solder, hot glue gun or some other adhesive, wire cutters/strippers, and needle nose pliers. Good luck and have fun with it!
You will start with a 2AA box with pre-drilled holes for the horn switch (A) the L.E.D. (B), and 510 sealed gold connector.  Notice the wires (C) still extend out of the box.  Slide the wires back through the hole so that they are not extending outside the box.  With needle nose pliers remove the battery contact with the spring (D) that has the black wire attached to it if it is not already removed.
Fold over the metal tab on the battery contact with spring (D) and place it in the slot on the opposite side of the battery channel with the battery contact with the red wire attached to it.  Using Wire strippers cut the excess off the red wire (E) leaving enough of the wire to make a connection to the horn switch.  Strip the end of the wire.  Then cut about 1.5 inches of the excess red wire and strip both ends.  Solder one side to the 510 sealed gold connector (F).  Then slide the connector into the predrilled hole on the end of the box.
Insert the horn switch into the predrilled hole. Solder the red wire (E) to side 1 of the horn switch.  Do not solder the other wire yet.  As shown in the figure solder one side of the resistor (G) to the L.E.D. (H).
Snip off the excess metal after the soldering point of the resistor (G) and the L.E.D. (H). Insert the LED (H) into the predrilled hole. Insert the other end of the resistor (G) through side 2 of the horn switch (A).  Bend the other end of L.E.D (H) around to the outside of the 510 sealed gold connector (F).
Solder the resistor (G) and the wire (I) coming from the 510 sealed gold connector (F) to side 2 of the horn switch.  Cut off any excess metal or wire with wire cutters.  Then solder the black wire coming from the battery contact with spring (D) and the L.E.D (H) to the outside of the 510  sealed gold connector (F)  At this point you can add a battery and a cartomizer or atomizer and test if your mod works.  If it does then we just need to finish a few things, if not then check all of your solder points.  Once you are getting the mod to vape you can proceed.
Place a healthy amount of hot glue in the channel with the electronics.  This serves to hold everything in place and to make sure that your solder points dont break.
If you have a clamp, replace the cover to the mod and clamp the switch down as shown so that the button is completely seated into the mod.  Do not apply too much pressure with the clamp; just enough to keep the button in place. Wait several minutes for the hot glue to set and you are ready to vape.
